SEL–NTUA Presents NURISH at the EULiST Summer School

The Sanitary Engineering Laboratory of the National Technical University of Athens (SEL–NTUA) participated in the EULiST European University Summer School on “Knowledge Graphs for Water Management”, hosted by Leibniz Universität Hannover from 13 to 19 September 2026.

SEL–NTUA was represented by PhD candidates Penelope Papadopoulou and Zois Gravanis, who took part in an intensive week of learning, knowledge exchange and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Throughout the programme, participants explored how Knowledge Graphs, semantic technologies and Artificial Intelligence can support the integration, interpretation and management of complex water-related data.

The Summer School combined theoretical learning with hands-on project work and discussions, highlighting how emerging digital technologies can connect scientific research with real-world water management challenges.
During the programme, the two PhD candidates also presented the NURISH EU Project and its work on strengthening climate resilience in rural and small urban communities through Nature-based Solutions, digital innovation and circular economy approaches.
The presentation provided an opportunity to explore the project from a new perspective and reflect on how Knowledge Graphs and other emerging digital approaches could support the development, integration and scaling of more resilient and sustainable water systems.
An especially valuable aspect of the Summer School was the interaction among researchers and participants from different countries and academic disciplines. The programme created a productive environment for exchanging knowledge, discussing ongoing research and identifying opportunities for future collaboration.
SEL–NTUA warmly thanks the organisers, mentors and all participants for an inspiring and productive week.
