Dimitrios Michailaris is an academic researcher at the School of Civil Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). His expertise includes the fields of Environmental Engineering, Desalination and Water Purification Technologies, Water and Wastewater Management, Thermal Science and Heat Transfer, Sustainable Development and Green Technologies and Environmental Policy and Management. His research focuses on the development and implementation of nature-inspired and bio-economy systems, utilizing solar distillation for freshwater recovery and the production of high-value agricultural products in water-scarce regions. He is an environmental scientist, holding two master's degrees in Environmental Studies and is a member of the Union of Environmental Scientists of Greece and the Sanitary Engineering Laboratory of NTUA.
