SureNexus in a nutshell

The SureNexus project aims to facilitate a fair transition for climate change adaptation and sustainable development by implementing the Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystems (WEFE) NEXUS approach. Focused on the Mediterranean region, it addresses water scarcity, biodiversity loss, and resource inefficiencies through Nature-based Solutions (NbS), regenerative agriculture, and circular economy practices.

The project has established demonstration sites in Spain, Greece, Morocco, Israel and Tunisia to test and validate innovative solutions in vineyard and winery management, sustainable tourism, precision agriculture, and agrovoltaics. By integrating artificial intelligence, participatory stakeholder engagement and cross-sector collaboration, SureNexus aims to enhance climate resilience and  optimize resource use.
