On May 20th, CARDIMED proudly participated in the 4th Forum for the Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change, held in Wrocław, Poland, alongside sister projects from the NBS4EU cluster. Represented by Simos Malamis and Alexandra Tsatsou from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), CARDIMED joined the forum’s poster exhibition to spotlight the transformative power of Nature-based Solutions (NbS) for climate resilience.

The Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change is one of the European Union’s key efforts to help regions, cities, and local authorities enhance their resilience to the growing impacts of climate change. The annual Mission Forum is a pivotal event, serving as a governance platform that brings together national, regional, and local authorities, EU institutions, Mission Charter Signatories, and Friends of the Mission. The forum provides an opportunity to exchange experiences, identify challenges and achievements, and help shape the Mission’s future direction.

The 2025 edition of the forum, co-organised by the European Commission and the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, highlighted real-world examples of climate adaptation from across Europe. Participants explored innovative tools, strategies, and solutions developed through Mission-supported projects while engaging in dialogue, networking, and knowledge exchange.

As part of the NBS4EU cluster, CARDIMED stood alongside fellow projects DesirMED, Natalie, ARCADIA, MountResilience, LAND4CLIMATE and NBRACER, to present a common poster showcasing how Nature-based Solutions are being implemented to address regional climate challenges.

The poster highlighted key strategies:

  • Integrating NbS into policy frameworks

  • Fostering collaboration among regions and experts

  • Tailoring approaches to local climate challenges

  • Scaling solutions through community engagement

Through collaboration and shared knowledge, the NBS4EU cluster is building a climate-resilient Europe—one rooted in innovation, nature, and inclusive action.

CARDIMED is proud to be part of this collective effort to inspire and implement effective climate adaptation strategies across the Mediterranean and beyond.
