Final LIFE BIODAPH2O Project Webinar - Register Now
On October 1st , the LIFE BIODAPH2O project will hold its final online webinar, presenting the project’s main results, achievements and lessons learned.
LIFE BIODAPH2O is a demonstration project aimed at proving the effectiveness of BIODAPH technology, an eco-efficient, nature-based tertiary wastewater treatment solution that produces high-quality reclaimed water while reducing dependence on conventional energy sources.
Demonstrated at two sites in water-stressed Mediterranean regions, Lesvos Island (Greece) and Catalonia (Spain), the technology contributes to reducing pollutants such as nutrients, emerging contaminants, pathogens and microplastics, while supporting water reuse for agricultural irrigation and other applications.
The webinar will provide an overview of the project’s implementation and results, with a particular focus on the replicability and transferability of BIODAPH technology. It will also include experiences from other initiatives working on nature-based solutions for wastewater treatment and water reuse, followed by a discussion on their main advantages, limitations and challenges for wider implementation.
The Sanitary Engineering Laboratory of the National Technical University of Athens (SEL–NTUA) will participate in the webinar by presenting its contribution to the LIFE BIODAPH2O project and the implementation and operation of the Greek demonstration site in Antissa, Lesvos.
SEL–NTUA will also contribute through the CARDIMED project, sharing complementary experience in the implementation and upscaling of nature-based solutions for climate resilience and sustainable water management in the Mediterranean region.
