
Simos Malamis
Associate Professor
Dr Simos Malamis is a Civil and Environmental Engineer and graduate from Imperial College, the University of Oxford and the National Technical University of Athens. He is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Water Resources and Environmental Engineering of the School of Civil Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens. He has more than 100 publications in international peer reviewed scientific journals and more than 200 Presentations in International Conferences. Dr Malamis is the coordinator of the Horizon Europe project of CARDIMED and the principal investigator in several other European, Mediterranean and National projects dealing with water resources management. His research focus is on advanced technologies for wastewater treatment and resource recovery, water reuse, biological nutrient removal, membrane processes and nature-based solutions for water/wastewater purification, decentralized wastewater management and nexus implementation. Dr Malamis has significant teaching experience in water and wastewater engineering and environmental technology.
